Common Earth brought us great language, activities and programming to support student learning on such topics as "The Tragedy of the Commons" and "We Got This", a positive and hopeful framing of action in the face of the climate crisis. We have had Common Earth in to work directly with students, and their approach has been very collaborative, creative and well-delivered. I joined Common Earth because I felt the need to acquire new knowledge and tools to apply to my work in sustainability. Through the course, I knew I would learn how to view Climate Change as a systemic issue and understand the economic, social, and mindset root causes behind it. What I did not know is that this course opened a door into a beautiful community of hyper-dedicated mentors and coaches, sustainability professionals from all over the world learning alongside, and multiple layers of interconnected feedback and learning that made this whole process so much more meaningful.
The course is structured into two modules, and I highly recommend interested people to cover both. There's incredible value behind the literature that is provided as a support for learning, the weekly community conversations with your new group of friends, the coaching of their dedicated staff of teachers, and the platform that connects you to so many other learners from previous cohorts. We learned about new economic models, and systems thinking as a way to read the climate change challenge; we discovered the details behind regenerative agriculture and biomimicry and established the foundations of possible future collaborations to come.
All this to say that this was a very rewarding experience and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to step up their knowledge of climate change beyond the limits of their daily job.

The course provided ample opportunities for dialogue across cultures, and geographies. It also inspired me to have a deeper dialogue on making choices and taking responsibility for them.
There were so many things that I wanted to apply in my daily life. I am trying my best to reduce the personal consumption of single-use plastics.

Common Earth took me on a journey of both familiar, vaguely familiar and new narratives. The readings, discussions and shared reflections really grounded the learning. The stories we shared were as valuable as the material that I read. The course gently walked us through a number of logic models, while leaving each of us to draw our conclusions and explore additional questions. The focused conversation method facilitated my learning in a way that is helping me to look for ways to take action. The deep dive into some of the science behind regenerative agriculture was mostly new to me. I have reduced my beef consumption and through discussion with the farmer who supplies me, I learned she has been increasingly integrating regenerative agriculture into her operation.

I found some of the economic models and the personal growth work completely new to me, I learned how to handle my personal relationships more effectively. The Common Earth Youth Program gave me insight into the climate crisis but also my peers and the way that they view the world around them. It gave me and many of my friends a safe space to reflect on ourselves and many other issues. I was so happy to find that the program was so community oriented and how much I was encouraged to explore my own preconceptions about the climate crisis as well as other factors. I felt that the course gave me a deeper understanding of the world in a space that was inclusive and judgement free.

My journey with the Common Earth Course has been profoundly transformative and enriching. The most valuable aspect was gaining a deeper understanding of Systems Thinking, which completely changed how I perceive interconnectedness and reshaped how I approach daily life. The course encouraged me to implement each insight and advocate for sustainable practices, fostering change within my circles, and sharing the word with others. Each pre-works and Daisy stories was truly unique which led me to look forward to the session with greater excitement. The facilitators created a safe space where I genuinely felt heard, and all the ideas were appreciated. The Youth Program broadened my understanding of the Climate Crisis, focusing on intergenerational justice and highlighting the interconnection of concerns across social spectrums. My outlook on the climate crisis has shifted to optimism, and now I strive to lead change where I don't necessarily need to have new ideas but by embracing and implementing good old ideas. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such an inspiring and supportive community. And, of course, the 20 weeks appeared to fly by, with new insights emerging each time.

The program has completely changed the way I think and view every situation. I’m more attuned to different perspectives, especially nature’s. My view on the climate crisis has changed to positively hopeful, after witnessing incredible work already being done. Now when I go to school, or interact in social situations, I instinctively think from a common earth perspective. One that is supportive of different views and perspectives. One that is always learning and developing. One that is kind and hopeful. One that is unconsciously already within us just waiting to be unlocked. One that is shared.

This educational journey has been nothing short of enlightening, fostering a deep appreciation for the urgency and complexity of the climate crisis while equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to be a proactive agent of change. We had great mentors and facilitators in this course with us.
Though climate change is heard every now and then, the curriculum was meticulously crafted, seamlessly navigating through the scientific foundations, societal implications, and potential solutions associated with this pressing issue. The mentors translated their ideas into engaging classes, making even the most intricate topics accessible and compelling. The course structure was thoughtfully designed to encourage critical thinking and active participation. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and collaborative projects, I not only grasped the theoretical aspects of climate change but also developed a practical understanding of how individuals and communities can contribute to mitigating its impacts.
My fellow participants from diverse backgrounds also provided a rich insight, enriching our discussions and building and deepening the collective understanding of the interconnectedness of climate issues across the world. Overall meeting this group of people has not only built my network but having fruitful opiniated discussions over the topic helped build my understanding.
The paradigm shifts introduced during the course may take time to fully incorporate into daily practices, but the foundational understanding gained is bound to influence positive changes in my lifestyle. Additionally, the knowledge acquired has proven invaluable in my public health studies, providing a complementary perspective that enhances my understanding of various topics in my curriculum.
I personally loved the classes, and spending time with Olivia and Sarah and also with Bruno, though it was once. I loved reading the several articles provided as a prework as it just enhanced the knowledge. Also, group works during the sessions and the best part being the inclusion of Daisy videos exemplified how individuals can successfully tackle seemingly challenging tasks within a group dynamic.
In conclusion, the 20-week Climate Change course with Common Earth has been a transformative experience that has left an indelible mark on my understanding of the climate crisis. I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone seeking a comprehensive and empowering education on climate change, as it equips individuals with the tools to be informed advocates for a sustainable future.

Through the course, I knew I would learn how to view Climate Change as a systemic issue and understand the economic, social, and mindset root causes behind it. The program has completely changed the way I think and view every situation. I’m more attuned to different perspectives, especially nature’s. My view on the climate crisis has changed to positively hopeful, after witnessing incredible work already being done. Now when I go to school, or interact in social situations, I instinctively think from a common earth perspective. One that is supportive of different views and perspectives. One that is always learning and developing. One that is kind and hopeful. One that is unconsciously already within us just waiting to be unlocked. One that is shared.

This educational journey has been nothing short of enlightening, fostering a deep appreciation for the urgency and complexity of the climate crisis while equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to be a proactive agent of change. We had great mentors and facilitators in this course with us.
Though climate change is heard every now and then, the curriculum was meticulously crafted, seamlessly navigating through the scientific foundations, societal implications, and potential solutions associated with this pressing issue. The mentors translated their ideas into engaging classes, making even the most intricate topics accessible and compelling. The course structure was thoughtfully designed to encourage critical thinking and active participation. Through interactive discussions, case studies, and collaborative projects, I not only grasped the theoretical aspects of climate change but also developed a practical understanding of how individuals and communities can contribute to mitigating its impacts.
My fellow participants from diverse backgrounds also provided a rich insight, enriching our discussions and building and deepening the collective understanding of the interconnectedness of climate issues across the world. Overall meeting this group of people has not only built my network but having fruitful opiniated discussions over the topic helped build my understanding.
The paradigm shifts introduced during the course may take time to fully incorporate into daily practices, but the foundational understanding gained is bound to influence positive changes in my lifestyle. Additionally, the knowledge acquired has proven invaluable in my public health studies, providing a complementary perspective that enhances my understanding of various topics in my curriculum.
I personally loved the classes, and spending time with Olivia and Sarah and also with Bruno, though it was once. I loved reading the several articles provided as a prework as it just enhanced the knowledge. Also, group works during the sessions and the best part being the inclusion of Daisy videos exemplified how individuals can successfully tackle seemingly challenging tasks within a group dynamic.
In conclusion, the 20-week Climate Change course with Common Earth has been a transformative experience that has left an indelible mark on my understanding of the climate crisis. I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone seeking a comprehensive and empowering education on climate change, as it equips individuals with the tools to be informed advocates for a sustainable future.
