Join a Local Group to Drive Systemic Change
Simple Rules
Like any Complex Adaptive System (CAS), local kiths adhere to some simple rules that allow them to operate as independent groups while at the same time maintaining the integrity of the intent of those groups.
These simple rules are:
- A kith regularly spends time together – it is hard to develop caring relationships without doing so.
- A kith helps its members to learn and teach to develop greater understanding.
- A kith looks for examples of where the new society is emerging and embraces that.
- A kith is kything – which means it is demonstrating the new society by doing something to help move us in that direction.
- A kith, like all organisms, wants to grow and self-replicate – invite your friends!
- A kith will divide in two once it has reached a threshold that will allow it to do so.
- A kith will stay connected to other kiths from around the world – embodying the think globally, act locally ethos.

To maintain the feeling of a caring community, kith sizes should be around 20 people.
When the groups expand beyond around 20 members, it's ideal that the group is divided into two separate ones.
The number of kiths around the globe is growing rapidly. We currently have 3 up and running, and the next one could be close to you.
