Course Essential Eligibility Criteria

Common Earth welcomes participants from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. As an online learning organisation, we are committed to making our programmes as inclusive and accessible as reasonably possible while recognising that successful participation requires certain practical capabilities related to communication, digital learning, and engagement.

These criteria are intended to help applicants determine whether a Common Earth programme is a good fit for them and to help us identify any reasonable accommodations that may support their participation.

Participants should be able to:

  • Possess sufficient proficiency in the language of instruction to participate actively in discussions, understand programme materials, and communicate with facilitators and fellow participants.
  • Ask for clarification or assistance when needed.

Learning and Participation

Participants should be able to:

  • Participate in collaborative discussions, reflective learning activities, and group exercises.
  • Listen to others and contribute constructively within a virtual learning environment.

  • Commit the time required to attend scheduled sessions and complete prework between sessions.
  • Take responsibility for managing their own participation throughout the programme.

Health, Wellbeing and Accessibility

Participants should:

  • Be able to engage in reflective discussions that may involve complex or emotionally challenging topics.
  • Inform Common Earth of any accessibility requirements, disabilities, health considerations, or other circumstances that may affect participation so that reasonable accommodations can be explored before the programme begins.

Accessibility

Common Earth is committed to increasing accessibility wherever reasonably possible. We recognise that every participant brings unique strengths and needs, and we encourage prospective participants to contact us before applying if they have questions about accessibility or accommodations.

Whenever possible, we will work collaboratively to identify reasonable adjustments that support meaningful participation while maintaining the essential nature of the learning experience.
